I graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC, in 1953.
I studied art at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and in
Richmond Virginia at Richmond Professional Institute (now VCU), earning
a BFA degree in 1960. My first job as a graphic designer was in NYC at
Dance Magazine. After a year, I returned to Virginia and worked
for several different studios and ad agencies and University of Virginia before establishing in 1974, in Vienna, Virginia, Teague Graphic Design.
Most of my assignments were illustrations for magazines
and newspapers.
In 2004, my wife and I relocated to Raleigh. We added a studio to
our home and there I paint (or play) full-time.
I've painted my own pictures all my life. About 1996, I began entering
juried competitions. Since then my paintings have been juried into over
one hundred exhibitions. During this time, I have shown my work in
eight one-man exhibitions.
